Tax and Coupon Conflict

  • When I use the coupon and tax together, their computation don’t match my goal. Tax is affected by the coupon. Say,

    $80 is the orig price
    10% is the coupon
    So $72 is the sub total.
    Then comes tax of %5

    Problem here is it will tax the $72 subtotal not the $80 orig price.
    How can I make it compute the $80 instead of the $72?

    Did you try checking the option “Apply before tax” on the coupon edit screen?

    I checked that. The scenario above has that setting. The apply before tax is unchecked, the amount plus the tax will be discounted. Say,

    $80 is the orig price
    then apply %5 for the tax.

    $84 will be the subtotal.
    The comes 10% coupon that will reduce the subtotal.

    This is not the client wants to happen…
