    Hey folks!

    Until yesterday woocommerce was configured to automatically apply taxes. All seemed good, Cart was showing the taxes correctly. Product is 10€ and tax 2€ for simplicity. So a total of 12€ a Customer needs to pay.

    it was configured to ?product price already included taxes“ . product price was set to 12€.

    when checking the order after purchase there is no sign of tax whatsoever, furthermore stripe is not showing the full price neither. It shows the price without taxes (10€). So now I ask myself where are the hundreds of € in taxes ?

    i disabled the tax calculation completely now it shows the full price of 13€. And also transfers that to stripe.

    what did I mess up?

    thank you, your answer made me Test different countries.
    When I give myself german location I get tax as it should be. It’s displaying it in the cart and in the order later on. All good.

    giving myself US country there is no tax applied at all at the checkout.

    For tax countries I only have Germany configured I didn’t know that I had to list any country I want to sell wir the according tax %

    so I assume the tax is not gone it just never got applied to the customer in the first place, great

    Great to hear that your tax settings are working perfectly for German orders. However, if you’re not seeing any tax applied for US orders, it’s likely because WooCommerce applies taxes based on your store’s base location and the customer’s shipping address. Since you’ve only set up tax rates for Germany, orders from countries like the US won’t have any tax applied.

    To fix this, you’ll need to set up tax rates for all countries you’re selling to.
