    Hello WooCommerce team,

We want to use the tax reports unter “Analytics > Taxes” for our monthly reports. Unfortunately the number are wildly inaccurate.

First of all all tax rates are shown three times (10%, 13%, 20%). It seems to be some kind of cross-connection with the other tax rates. They are grouped in threes and I can only check/uncheck each group of three.

Then these three groups of three show completely different numbers per tax rate. Which can’t be correct.

And if you add the numbers they are way higher than they should be. The totals above & below the report show the realistic numbers.

    What I tried:
    – Disabled all plugins except WooCommerce
    – Cleaned um tax rates & gave them individual names (only three named 10-mwst, 13-mwst, 20-mwst remain)
    – Removed and reimported statistics data
    – Created a brand new order with products with all three tax rates

Last month it still worked fine.

Do you know what is wrong and how can I get the correct numbers?

Tax report today (after cleanup & indiviual tax rate names & new order): https://ibb.co/Wk4XmN5
Taxes in order (same as the ones in the tax report from today): https://ibb.co/G5PjMLY

  • Hey there, @larvafashion! Thanks for contacting us. I’m happy to help you.

As I understand this used to work correctly before, right?

Have you made any changes to the website recently? This could be adding or removing plugins or custom code, updating the theme or plugins, etc.

Can you please share screenshots of how you have this set up so we can take a look?

    We need screenshots of:

    • WooCommerce > Settings > Taxes
    • WooCommerce > Settings > Taxes > Standard Rates
    • If you have reduced rates and zero rates, please also share those

    What I tried:
    – Disabled all plugins except WooCommerce

Have you tried using a previous version of WooCommerce to check if the issue persists?

You can find older versions to download here.

If you prefer, you can also use a plugin such as WP Rollback to help you with this process. You can find the plugin here.

Please try with 9.0.0 to see if it works as expected.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Have a wonderful day!

    Hi Carol,

Yes, it worked correctly before. I have a PDF with the numbers of March, which where exported in June.

I do monthly updates, so it could have been this or the last update (I don’t know the exact date of the last export).

    Here are the tax settings:

I tried reverting to WooCommerce 9.0 & even 8.9. No change.

    Regards,
    Sara

Update: Some combination of downgrading (to 8.9.0) and reimporting the statistics data helped. After that I could also upgrade to 9.1.2 again.

I guess the problem was somewhere in our huge database…

That’s great to hear! Thanks for letting us know.

However, to ensure this issue doesn’t recur, I would recommend running a database repair.

You can do this using the WP-Optimize plugins, which allow you to repair and optimize your database. You can also use the WooCommerce database update tool, which is found in WooCommerce > Status > tools.

Meanwhile, I will mark this thread as resolved. Should you have further inquiries, kindly create a new topic here.

    Have a great day!
