I have a Minnesota, USA-based store and I am taking $180 as a tax. But I want to do like if someone trying to buy a product from outside of Minnesota as well as outside of the country then the tax will be zero for them and add only shipping cost.

    1. Inside Minnesota – tax + shipping cost
    2. Outside Minnesota & country – No tax, Only Shipping Cost

So, Is it possible in WooCommerce????

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi there,

Yes, this is possible in WooCommerce. You can do this in two different ways.

    1. By using the WooCommerce Shipping & Tax extension (free), and enabling Automated Tax Calculations.
    2. By configuring Tax Rates manually for your state, via the settings at WooCommerce > Settings > Tax, as per this documentation.

Let us know if you have any questions once you’re underway with the setup.

    Cheers,

    No, It’s not working

It only adds a tax for all-region.

    Hi @admirallake

No, It’s not working . It only adds a tax for all-region

May I know which of the two suggested options did you try?

If possible please share the following so we can suggest what exactly need changed:

    * Screenshot of your Your shipping settings (shipping zones + methods) from WooCommerce → Settings → Shipping
    * Screenshots of your tax settings: WooCommerce → Settings → Tax

We recommend https://snipboard.io for easily sharing screenshots – please follow the instructions on the page, then paste the URL in this chat.

If you tried using the WooCommerce Shipping & Tax extension and faced some hurdles, you can seek help in the forum here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/woocommerce-services/

We’ll look forward to hearing from you.

    Hello @admirallake,

Definitely, we’re trying to but you can elaborate a bit more on this so we’ll have more context to assist you.

One question for you: is $180 a fixed amount or a tax rate % (percentage)?

I’m asking this because there is no core option in WooCommerce to set a fixed tax rate. Taxes are calculated depending on the percentage you select.

For fixed amounts instead, you can add an extra fee. Some extensions like Extra Fees for WooCommerce can help with that.

Having said that, these are my settings for charging a 10% Minnesota Tax rate to those customers from Minnesota and a 0% tax rate to all other customers outside Minnesota.

Hope this is helpful to you.

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m marking this thread as closed for now – we’ll be here if and/or when you are ready to continue.
