I have a new site i am launching this week, when configuring tax settings i am unable to click on most of the dropdowns to reveal their options.
I have to click, then hit space bar to bring up the list.
Then when i select “Shop base address” under Calculate based on,
the setting changge is not respected, but the “Setting saved successfully” message comes up.

I have replicated the issue on another site, on another host.
Is this a bug in WC?
I have tried in Chrome & Firefox.

@oli_ptslondon Ah, that definitely seems like strange behavior.

So far I have been unable to reproduce. When I try on a site of my own, all dropdowns appear clickable, and the settings are saved accordingly:

Can you show me a screenshot of what that page looks like for you?

    Sure

It seems when i disable taxes i can change options again, but they still do not save

Thank you for sharing that screencast.

I see the issue and I can confirm that behavior is expected. You have enabled automated taxes on your store. When you enable that option, all the rest of the settings are automatically configured for you. You cannot change the configuration of the other items once you enable automated taxes, because those are the settings used by automated taxes.

So, even if you temporarily disable the automated taxes, the moment you enable them again, those settings will be put back to the default.

If you’d like to use different settings for tax calculation, you will need to disable automated taxes and configure your tax rates manually.
