Good morning! I recently moved from AL to SC and changed my tax rate information accordingly. My taxes are not showing up/included (they show as zero) on the cart/checkout pages…
Everything is updated. WordPress version 4.9.6.
Please advise as this needs to be corrected.
    Thanks so much!
By the way, it has saved, but after it does, the “Save Changes” button fades (so that you cannot save again)…

    Hi there @sleeneys

Are you talking about core WooCommerce Taxes or those provided by the WooCommerce Services plugin? https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/woocommerce-services/

and changed my tax rate information accordingly

Have you updated your address under WooCommerce General Settings?

Calculate tax based on is important as that will determine whether tax should be collected. Have you confirmed that you do need to collect tax from a customer that you are not?

Can you give me an example ZIP to test out as a customer, please?

    Thanks,

Hello. Thank you so much for responding! I did change the address to SC under the Woo Commerce General tab, Store Settings (I’m online only with no physical store, so I only put the city and state). I also changed the “Standard” Tax Rates (I deleted the AL row and added a new SC row with 9%) under the Tax tab.
An example zip is 29412. This zip should have a 9% tax rate calculated in.
    THANK YOU!!!!

Oh! Also, The Calculate Tax Based On is set to Customer Billing Address. I did not change that and it has always worked before…

Given that, then changing your shop’s location shouldn’t matter at all.

Can you please send a screenshot of your standard tax rates screen? I recommend https://snag.gy for easily sharing screenshots – please follow the instructions on the page, then paste the URL in this chat. It works with Chrome, Firefox and IE.

    Thanks!

Hi Hannah! Thanks so much! I have Safari and couldn’t post the screenshot…

    “Standard” tax rates

    Country code-US State code-SC Postcode / ZIP-I left blank City-my city is here Rate %-9.0000 Tax name-Sales Priority-1 Compound-blank Shipping-blank
Insert row Remove selected row(s) Export CSV Import CSV

Save changes-this is not an option/you cannot click on it. I’ve deleted the row and added the row and when I’ve done that, it will allow me to Save Changes. I get the spinning wheel, but the Save Changes box stays blank… So I don’t think that it’s really saving, even though it saved the changes enough to delete my previous tax rate.
    Again- thank you!!

I hope this helps and I’m sorry that I can’t post the screenshot!

Hello! Here’s the screen shot. Thanks so much! It looks as though, for whatever reason, it is not truly saving the changes as the Save Changes button is cleared out. As I mentioned before, it will save them once, but then this….
    Thanks so much!
