This is really strange behavior. I’m not 100% sure if it’s a CPTUI thing, or something weird with Gutenberg and the Rest API. Hoping someone can shed more light on this.

Something weird keeps happening inside the editor with my taxonomies… I type one in, hit “Enter” and it appears there. Then I add a another, or maybe a few more, and most times they just disappear from the interface as I’m still entering more. after about 10-15 seconds or so, they show back up, but not all the time.

Here’s a link to a real-time screen recording GIF I created to show just how strange it is: https://imgur.com/a/EwLtkho

Have you seen this before? Any possible solutions?

That’s a new one to me, and I really have to believe it’s more WP core than anything we do. We don’t directly tie into the post editor screen with anything. I am curious what your browser developer tools console is showing during the time you’re using these inputs.

You know what, I think you’re right @tw2113. I just watched the console as it happened and I’m seeing POST .../wp-json/wp/v2/tags?_locale=user 400 error. And then a whole list of things, most of which seem to have to do with api-fetch.min.js?ver=2.2.8:1 and a bunch of other files. All of them seem to be in WP core.

I didn’t think to check the console first. Thanks! Will see if I can get WP core support to look at this.

Marking this as resolved since we’re 99.9999999999% sure it’s not coming from CPTUI.

Sounds good, thanks for the feedback and information found.
