Hi, this seems like a great plugin. But I can’t my woocommerce taxonomies to show in the widget.

I have products, and in that Custom Post Type there is a “Brands” taxonomy that I’d like to show. But when I choose “Products” as posts to get and “Taxonomy” as “Brands” I still only the products themselves rather than the categories placed in the brand taxonomy.

Any idea why this might be?

    Thanks

    Hi udapud,

I’m not sure I fully understand the issue.

Are you saying that when you choose the “Brands” taxonomy from the Taxonomy & Term drop-down in the widget, you see the your products (CPT) as the options to select from or do you see a list of the terms you created within your “Brands” taxonomy?

If you’re seeing your products there and not the brand terms, that would be strange indeed. If that’s the case, it would be helpful fo me to be able to see the actual wp-admin where this is happening. Could you get me access to wp-admin on the site where this is happening?

    Thanks!

    Hi Dave

I do see the brands in the terms as expected, as a drop down list.

Ultimately though I’m trying to create a “Featured Brands” that chooses at random, a new brand upon refresh. and if I could do it without having to tick a new box everytime that would be good too.

Currently even when ticking all the brand boxes in the terms I only the actual products from woocommerce rather than the brands in the brands taxonomy. I’ll send you a guest login if it still seems a mystery, although I suspect its my lack of knowledge causing the issue.

    Thanks

Okay, that makes more sense. ??

Unfortunately, FPW is specifically designed to show posts (Posts, Pages, Products, what have you) based on a set of criteria (post type, tax & term, etc). It isn’t designed to display terms. I’m not sure if there might be another widget out there that does that, but it’s not really in the scope of this widget.

    Sorry I’m not more help,
