• Hello, after I updated Types plugin to version 1.9, my custom taxonomy disapeared from my custom post type submenu and the metabox from the custom post type edit page. But, this custom taxonomy is checked inside custom post type Taxonomies settings.

For your information, the custom taxonomy is not registered with Types plugin, it’s the ‘question_tag’ taxonomy from Anspress plugin, that I used with my custom post type.

Do you have any idea why this taxonomy disapeared from the edit page and the submenu.

    Thank you!

I reproduced that issue with the package I received from @robert Trevellyan

The issue remains the same, it can be solved by re-saving the Post Type.

@shadowshades if this does not work for you, I might need a Package from you too.

    I apologize all this inconveniences

@shadowshades can you also tell me what you see when you go to Post > Categories > Count?

Are the categories still showing a count, or is it “0”?

This is important to know because if it’s 0 on your end it means the categories have been unassigned, while the issue I could now replicate still has the categories assigned but the Meta Box and Taxonomy Column is missing, which is to solve by re-saving the Post Type.

    Pleas let me know.

not sure if I’m talking about same issue but custom post type is associated rightly with category and tags. No problem on that.

My problem is I don’t see the category and tags on the related custom post page.

If your Custom Post type still is attached to the native WordPress Taxonomies and the Categories themselves still present the correct Post Count, you can solve this by re-save the Post Type in Types > post types > your_post_type

This solved the issue on my reproduction and on the above user’s snapshots and sites as well.

If this does not solve the issues on your end, I need to login, or better, get a local snapshot on this to see why this is not working on your end.

It might be a cache issue as well, or a conflict with some code or plugin you use.

Please head to the Types forum in case this dos not work for you – we can then troubleshoot it effectively.

I have tried this resaving issue before posting for sure.

How can I send you a private message so you can check my web site ?

    Beda, Please see the screenshot.
As you see the attached screenshot, Events post type has 2 taxonomies Tags and Event Types. However, Tags are not showing under Events(Of course I click save post type already)

Murat, Robert Trevellyan did you guys solve this issue?
    thanks.

@idpokute, re-saving each custom post type fixed it for me, so if that doesn’t fix it for you, I don’t know what else to suggest.

@beda, I notice that Categories came back after re-save post-type. But not luck with Tags.

I have the same issue I tried re-saving and it worked for one post-type, but for the other I get a warning saying “It is not recommended to have same plural and singular name for a Post Type. Please use a different name for the singular and plural names.” after ignoring the warning it does not seem to save the post-type, and any changes I make remain unsaved.

I did some further digging, this error seems to hide any other error messages, so it seems to save the page, but due to other errors it does not save the page and does not display an error message.

I got it to work by adding the category to the wpcf-custom-types and wpcf-custom-taxonomies options serialized data directly in the wp_options table in the database

the post type correctly attaches to categor?es or tags. it’s not the problem.

problem is I don’t see them on custom post type page.

resaving etc. doesn’t solve. plugin has an error.

    @robert

This warning is there for a reason.
It will cause confusion and that is why you need to have different Plural and singular slugs.

@murat for all our users we have so far with this issue, reserving solved the problem.

Please follow my suggestion and we will look int this specific issue.
Please head to the Types forum in case this dos not work for you – we can then troubleshoot it effectively.

It is not possible for me to solve issues in the blue with no Site’s snapshot or insight in the specific settings.

Also, the issue has been replicated by me, reported, and we will provide a FIX as soon the we have solved this of good.

    Thank you

FYI: I solve my issue. I deactiavated taxonomies and activated again. Then it is solved. I don’t know why, but it solve the problem.

@beda I appreciate your help and I’m sure you will fix it. I don’t see a reason to post any screen images as some other people allready posted.

As I mentioned I’m ready to give you full access to my web site so you can check the issue. Just let me know your email address.
