OK . . . I’m almost done asking question . . . for now ?? And I’m not sure this is the best place to ask, but I’m not sure what IS the best place.

I have an RSS feed set up from Amazon, I am able a amend an affiliate tracking ID to it and it works. So far I’ve just been testing and setting up this system. My account in Amazon however is shown thousands of click throughs.

Does any one know, when the rss feed is activated does it register as a “click” on my tracking? Does it register a click for each item in the RSS feed?

Note to Allen: I’m not wanting you to research this, but if you know off the top of your head, I’d love to know.

Technically, no click should be registered until someone actually leaves your site (by clicking on a link with your tracking code) and lands on Amazon (since the affiliate is a querystring and passed along in the url).

Hmm . . . maybe it’s the search engine bots following links.

I don’t know that it’s a big issue, but I’d still like to know. I’ll do my own research on this.

    Thanks
