technorati tags from post descriptions to post

Is there anything out there that would allow me to take whatever text (or in this case, technorati html links) from each category description box in the control panel and apply the set list of tags for that category to each post within the category?

(ie: apply the same tags for each post in the category to each individual post)

I am using 1.5.2 and tried a plugin to autogenerate tags and meta (I think keywords), but it didn’t work and didn’t create any tags, so I deactivated it…I didn’t like the fact that it created meta either as I already have a hack in place to write the post title to the meta title and description tags on each individual post page.

Please let me know if what I have in mind to take the category description and have it uniformly added to each post in the way of technorati tags is possible. I am OK having the same tags for each post in the category, but I don’t want to have to manually add them.
