Well… your blog is running on an outdated version… and you said you just switched server.

yes absolutely. the old server was using the updated version and this new server is using the outdated version.

so that’s the problem? all i have to do is switch out my config.php file?

well yea… just follow the instructions in the link and you should be okay.

No, you have to update the entire wordpress core. If you don’t know what I’m remotely talking about I would hire someone to do it for you.

i know what you mean about the wordpress core. basically, everything i get from the new upload, but without the stuff i personally edited. correct?

In a basic WordPress upgrade you would just delete almost everything, but the WP-CONTENT folder and your wp-config file. If you created any special folders be careful not to delete those either.

You’ll basically get rid of the wp-admin, wp-includes, and all the other wp-****.php files.

Example.com is the url of your wordpress install.

would example.com be grisephotography.com if my blog is grisephotography.com/blog?

If you uploaded the wordpress install into the ‘blog’ directory then https://grisephotography.com/blog/wp-admin/upgrade.php would be the path to execute the db upgrade.
