    Hello,

I created a custom taxonomy. To enable things like featured image and, more importantly, revisions, I opted to not use the description of the taxonomy to be displayed.

Instead, I created a custom field (with ACF) where the editor would select a post (from a custom post type).

Now I’d like to tell Yoast to use headline and content and all that fun stuff from that external post instead of the (obviously incomplete) taxonomy content.

How would I do this? Can I inject this into Yoast somehow?

    Thank you!

  • Hey @alduinwf,

    Thank you for reaching out.

I’m not sure if that is possible by default – we can scan custom fields tied to a post/page with https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/acf-content-analysis-for-yoast-seo/ – but we can’t scan the content of a post/page that is chosen in a field. That needs customization, and you are free to customize the plugin to your needs. However, please note that we can’t help or give support on custom code.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

    thank you for the reply.

Yes, sure with custom code, I’m fine with this. And the custom code would be unsupported, I’m fine with this too ??

I’d like to know if there is a hook or something where I could tell it to not use the obvious content but something else (on the frontend).

    Hey @alduinwf,

    Thank you for your reply.

We’ve looked at the RRTT link and see that the warnings you get on the product pages are from the WooCommerce plugin. We don’t output review or aggregate rating schema. We do optimize and tie the WooCommerce schema to our Schema graph when you use our WooCommerce SEO addon.

?? I am afraid whether we have a hook or filter available to hook the content from a different source simultaneously. I highly recommend you to deep dive into our public repository and developer documentation to find out more information and fix the puzzle ??
