Temp Page at domain root links to Wp site

Hi guys

i have set up a temporary word press site and i have it so that when you go to my home page i have a regular html page which says click this link to carry on to our temporary website which is the wordpress install etc

my problem is when i go to general settings and change the homepage URL to my website Root the word press homepage loops with the root homepage image i have, So if i click the welcome please click here to carry on to our temp site it just loops its self instead of going on to the wp/home site etc,I haven set up perma links yet so its just using the standard page id ones etc.

any help would be great as when its searched in google it comes up with my site with the wp at the end of the link which then they dont know its a temp site so i have to force it to go to the root html first.

Im new enough to this so excuse me if its not explained properly.
