• I’m working with a custom theme on a fresh install of wordpress, and have a number of page templates.
On pages, the dropdown menu to select the page template has disappeared.
I’ve re-activated the default theme, de-activated it, and re-activated the custom theme, as has been suggested as a fix to this bug, but with no luck. The template menu still isn’t there. In the screen options at the top of the page, there isn’t an option to turn this on and off either. Completely at a loss as to what’s causing this.

    Any help much appreciated.

I have the theme sitting on both a development server and a live server. The problem arose when I moved it to the live server.

Both servers are running php5 and sql ver 5 and are essentially set up in exactly the same way. Beyond basic admin access, I don’t have control of the live server.

Then that confirms that it’s a server issue. Have you tried re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.

    Twice.

I really don’t know what else to suggest other than contacting your hosts. Do they claim to support WordPress?

    They do.
There’s another, separate wordpress install on the same server ( different domain entirely ) which has no problems at all. Nobody so far can work out what’s gone wrong here.

Thanks for the help anyway folks, much appreciated, if I ever work out what set of circumstances caused the issue, I’ll post them and link back.
