Template for WordPress posts page?

  • When I assign a page to the Posts Page (WP -> Settings -> Reading) it disables templates in that pages Page Attributes.

    I can make/use custom templates for all my regular static pages (including Home page) and also for my posts themselves… but the Posts Page itself seems to be the one page I cannot make a template for. Is this normal? Is there some way I can make a template for that page too?
