Template not saved

Hi there,
I’m trying to figure out why the amends to the email templates I make are not saved.What I do is I select an email template, I make changes, then I click the Update button at the bottom of the left hand column but if I refresh that same page or I go to that specific email template, the changes are not there.
I’ve also tried saving as draft, publish. Nothing happens. The email template reverts back to its default status.Am I missing something?
