Template Overrides

Trying to customize the submit listing template to suit my project (submit-listing-plan-selection.tpl.php.) The messaging and some of the div sections on this template makes absolutely no sense for my project. Standard template override method doesn’t seem to work on this one – only way my edits display is if the template file is uploaded to the BD plugin folder. WP 4.9.7 and BD 5.3. All the rest of my overrides are fine in my theme folder. Are there only specific templates that can be overridden? Thanks.

Sorry that you ran into issues here!
You are correct that not all templates can be overridden. We document which ones in this article here: https://docs.businessdirectoryplugin.com/themes/customization.html#how-to-implement-a-template-override
Reason for this is that some aspects of the workflow must be controlled fully by us otherwise we can’t guarnatee that the steps will end up as expected, leaving the listing in a weird state.
However, if all you need to do is just change the messaging, you can use a translation file for that and change some strings.
