    Hi there, the .site-content area is 75em wide (about 1200px) already, if you are wanting to increase the post/page content area closer to that width, you can do so by increasing the width in the following:

    .page-content, .entry-content, .entry-summary, .entry-title, .entry-footer, .page-title, .site-header-inner, .comment-list, .comments-title, div#respond, .page-content, .paging-navigation, .post-navigation, .comment-navigation, .entry-format, .page-header {
        width: 650px;
    }

    Howdy,

    This answer was pretty good and partially answers a question I have.

    I’ve done this and made it to be 875px. What this has done is expanded my photos to almost the full with of the post.

    This has been great for my landscape oriented photos but any portrait oriented photos refuse to be the full width.

    If I can’t make the portrait oriented photos the full width, how can I make a photo in my post to be centered?

    Would this be a per-post thing or is there a global setting I can set just for photos in my posts (I wouldn’t want any headlines, share icons or other parts of the post to be centered.

    Thanks!
    Anthony

    Hi Anthony, did you get this issue sorted out? On your blog page I’m seeing both landscape and portrait images at the same width.

    Let me know if you still need help. Thanks!

    p.s. in future, could you please start a new thread rather than replying to such an old one? Folks will spot your question more quickly and you can always link back to the old thread as a reference.

    Hey Kathryn!

    I’ll get video showing my screen on my iPad and iPhone.

    https://www.flickr.com/gp/poofterorg/9X3V3n
    (My pointing on the video is about the width of the border. I was not trying to pinch out or in to zoom.)

    So I can type less Landscape and Portrait oriented photos are “wide” and “tall” respectively.

    On iOS devices (iPad mini 3, iPhone 5S & a friend’s iPhone 6 Plus – all current SW) it acts like this:

    • Portrait Mode – as wide on the screen as I specified (except tall photos on iPad).
    • Landscape Mode – not as wide as the screen. The posts get as wide as the screen but photos do not.
    • Landscape mode after refreshing – Wide photos display full width of post. Tall photos still are not as wide as the post.

    On my iPhone 5S, all photos are really small at not even half the width of the screen, after switching to Landscape mode.
    On the 5S, refreshing the page, all photos are full width.

    1. How could I force the tall photos to be full width?
    2. If I cannot, how do I make a refresh happen when orientation is switched?
    3. Also if I cannot, how could I make tall photos centered in the post without the other post elements being centered?

    Also yes I can create a new post next time. Would you like me to now?

    Thanks!
    Anthony

    Hey Anthony – I’ve copied this into your other thread and will reply there after I’ve had a chance to investigate:
