I have been trying to figure out how to change my heading color and fix my categories for over a week. I am really anxious to get my site up and running. Please, please help!! I would greatly appreciate any assistance in getting this site up today.

    1) How to change the heading color? (“www.artofpurpose.org”)

    2) How to get category list to work? (I think I may have screwed up the code somewhere. Currently, I wrote some sample posts (not pages) and assigned them to a category called “health” and [ health (1)] is not showing up in the sidebar)

I have checked the header.php to see where I can change the color there and in the css style and played w/ the code I might be missing something cause I don’t know how to fix it. I want to change the heading title from black to a light green. I’ve got the color codes that I want to try…

The category problem maybe that the code for that portion was erased but I don’t know how to rewrite it. I’ve tried dropping what I think it might be but nothing has worked yet.

So please, I beg, on my knees HELP! ?? I’m really new at this. I am doing my best to learn it all.

    Carmen

  • If you are new I don’t know how did you managed to screw it up in this way:
    https://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.artofpurpose.org%2Fwordpress%2F
Too many errors to even start to look what is wrong with your code. Sorry.

I don’t understand. Could you explain? What is this?

What do you suggest I do? I was trying to do my best to move the code around the set up the template buttons in the side bar. It seems like there would be a way for me to redo the category part. I know some code was lost in the sidebar but everything else works fine.

Those are validation errors. Yoru code is NOT valid.

Well, if you don’t know what are you doing, then don’t touch the code. At least not until you learn more about html/css.

The theme you are using could not come with that many errors – it was designed by a well-known designers. So, all the errors are due to your editing.
Scrap it and upload a clean copy of the theme.

Some errors, of course, might be in your posts: many people make tons of errors, especially when using the rich text editor.

But with an error number over 150, nobody is going to look at the issues you asked about – because we simply don’t want to correct all those errors for you (sorry) and while they are there we don’t know which of them might be the cause for your colour or category etc, problems.

Those errors are text size/color changes added in the body of the text in the front static page. I’m not particularly concerned with that right now. None of those are errors have anything to do with the code in the sidebar.
