    Hi @nitrat,

For performance reasons, the latest version of Gravity PDF caches the list of installed templates.

The cache is automatically flushed when you add a template via the PDF Template Manager. If you use a File Manager to create/upload a template, you will need to clear the cache manually.

It’s easy to do. Go to Forms -> Settings -> PDF in your WordPress admin area and turn Debug Mode on. Confirm your new template appears in the Default Template dropdown, and then turn Debug Mode back off.

    Hi

Thanks. But this…It seems to me a very non-standard approach, to put it mildly.

Caching disk operations for performance reasons is becoming the norm e.g. the theme.json file. That said, we are certainly open to improving the development experience when building custom templates for Gravity PDF. What is your particular workflow like?

I make custom templates for insurance policies and related documents.

It’s fantastic to hear you are getting good use out of Gravity PDF! However, that’s not the question I’m asking. I’m interested in what your development and deployment process is for these templates e.g. where do you build and test the templates; how do you install the templates on the production website etc.

I send custom templates via ftp. Here you can view a preview of the policy made using your plugin. I really like your plugin, well done!

    Hi @nitrat,

    Thank you for the information.

The recommended manual deployment method for custom templates is via the PDF Template Manager, but the team will brainstorm ideas on how we can make it easy to flush the cache when using FTP or a File Manager to do the installation.
