I need some professional technical help to improve the SEO settings in my blog. How should I give them access to my blog so that they could do this? I don’t think that I want to make any outside technician an “administrator” for my blog, because I think that that role would give them equal control with me over its content and functions. I would appreciate some guidance regarding this matter. Here is a link to my blog: A good blogThanks.

I have listed this project with jobs, and received some interested inquiries from several technicians, but I don’t know how to give them access to my blog. Some guidance in that matter would be helpful. Thanks for your reply.

Create a new admin account on your site for your chosen supplier.

I need some more detailed instructions for giving access to my blog to another technician. If I add another user to my blog as an “administrator” what control do I have over his manipulation of my blog’s features and its content? Could I remove him from my list of users when he is finished with his services? Or could I change his role to that of a “subscriber”? And what specific parts of my blog or site does he need access to in order to provide his requested services? And how do I give him access to just those areas? Please give me some more detailed guidance regarding this matter. I don’t want to create more problems for me in the operation of my blog than I’m trying to solve. Thanks.

what control do I have over his manipulation of my blog’s features and its content?

None. I assume you will have already gone through the usual common sense checks to ensure that you are using a creditable & trusted supplier.

Could I remove him from my list of users when he is finished with his services?

    Yes.

And what specific parts of my blog or site does he need access to in order to provide his requested services?

S/he may need access to all areas – including plugins & themes.

And how do I give him access to just those areas?

You can’t. If you want someone to work on your site, you have to provide them with full access so that they can carry out their job effectively. As long as you don’t given them your access details but set up separate logins and FTP access for them, you can terminate their access at any time.

Bottom line: you’re handing over money to this person. Check them out before you engage them. And don’t forget that you get what you pay for.

Thanks so much for these additional details regarding this matter. I’m still not sure how I would have to set up a separate login and FTP access for a temporary technician. Where do I go on my blog to do that? I now manage my blog from its Dashboard, but I don’t understand all of its various options and functions. I appreciate your help with this.

Where do I go on my blog to do that?

It’s not part of your blog. It’s functionality offered via your hosting account. Try asking your hosts for assistance.

I would apparently have to set up a new FTP account for my blog, which could be temporary. I got some tutorial instructions for doing this from another technician. Thanks for your help.

How do I indicate that the temporary WordPress Blogger Positions for a WP Technician in Rockford that I announced in Word Press Jobs has been filled?

To be honest, I have no idea. It’s not like I’ve ever needed to use it.:-) Can you edit your original posting?

I don’t see option that enables me to edit my posting of the job. That is what I would like to do. You can see my posting at WordPress Blogger Positions on the WordPress Jobs site. It is posted as WP Technician, the one in Rockford, Illinois.
