1. It breaks your website

We installed this plugin to translate our website from English to French, German, Chinese and other languages. The plugin basically broke the design of our website except for the last language added. So after adding 3 languages, our pages we broken in English, in French but not in German.

The language selector does not show at all and there’s jus tno way to make it work. Neither does the browser language recognition making this plugin totally unusable.

And if this wasn’t bad enough, it took us hours to clean the mess after we removed this very bad plugin. Because this plugin ads [:en], [:fr] etc… literally everywhere on your website. And when you deactivate the plugin, the mess remains. Everywhere. Menu items, titles, page content, you name it.

    2. Translations are terrible

I speak fluently English, French German and Chinese, so I can give you some feedback on the translations. They are very bad. I don’t know what API they use for this because translations are worse than Google Translate. It’s so bad, I had to edit each translation to make it work

      3. Support is horrible

The developer team is located in some place where customer service is notoriously bad, particularly when it comes to issuing a refund. They say they want to see evidence and ask us to reinstall their pos plugin to show them that it breaks the website. I’m sorry guys, we wasted enough time with the first run, there’s no way we’re going to break it again, just issue the refund!

      4. Go with TranslatePress

After wasting an entire day with WPML, and after fixing the website and removing all the mess their plugin had created on every page, every menu item etc…, I installed TranslatePress. Their AI translation seems to be using chatGPT and the results are fantastic. The translation is very good and very fast as well. Furthermore the pages are dynamically translated when users in one language go to a specific page. It also updates the translation automatically whenever you modify something in the original language. TranslatePress is fantastic. WPML is a piece of s… You got it.

        Hi @thebigmike ,

Thank you for sharing your feedback, and I’m sorry to hear about your experience. I’ve searched our database for your profile name and website registered here on www.ads-software.com but couldn’t find any associated WPML.org account. Could you confirm your username on WPML.org?

        1. Design Issues: Could you share more details about the issue? For example, which theme or page builder (e.g., Elementor) you’re using? This will help us identify what might have gone wrong. If you’re willing, please open a chat on our forum.
        2. Content Changes: WPML core plugin does not add language prefixes (e.g., [:en], [:fr]) to content or menus. Have you used our testing tool for developers? It creates fake translations to simulate content. Additionally, did you migrate from another multilingual plugin?
        3. Automatic Translations: WPML offers multiple translation engines: DeepL, Google, Microsoft. If you experienced translation issues, we’d like to investigate further to understand what went wrong.
        4. Support and Refunds: Our multilingual support team spans various regions to cover different time zones and languages. Refund requests must go through our administrative team; you can submit your request here.

We’d greatly appreciate any additional information to assist you further. Your feedback is valuable in helping us improve.

We got in touch with your horrible customer service for a refund. We now have ask the bank for a chargeback because you guys won’t issue it.

In elementor, it breaks the design and adds [:en] [:fr] etc everywhere.

We have not used your testing for developers because a plugin is supposed to work right away. TranslatePress does work right away though.

Anyone who speaks more than one languages knows how bad Google, Deepl and Microsoft are at translation. Only LLMs provide a correct enough translation. That’s what TranslatePress seems to be using. (chatGPT API)

Based on the quality of your customer service and how they interact with customers, the guys I was in touch with were likely in Gujarat India.

        Hi Mike,

        1. Website Design Issues:
WPML does not add any language prefixes/suffixes to content or menus. Instead, it creates separate posts for each language. This behavior suggests that the issue might be caused by another tool or configuration on your site.

        2. Translation Quality:
WPML offers multiple translation engines, including DeepL, Google, and Microsoft. Additionally, we now provide an AI-powered translation option through our WPML AI engine (LLM). This feature is currently in beta, and you can learn more about it here: WPML AI Translation.

        3. Support and Refunds:
Our support team is dedicated to assisting you with technical issues. However, please note that refund requests are managed by our administrative team. You can submit a request via the form provided in my previous answer.

I hope this clarifies any misunderstandings.

Well, your plugin messed up our website. We had to spend an entire day to fix it. You can keep saying your translations are good, they just aren’t.

Regarding refund here’s how your “administrative team” handles it:

Day1 (less than 24 hours after purchasing your bad plugin): Ok we will issue a refund, please just let us know what went wrong.

Day2: Oh ok, we need to see it for ourselves and then we issue the refund. Please show us how it broke your website -> Seriously? You wan’t me to break my website again and spend an entire day to fix it again? That’s BS guys.

Day3-7: We can’t issue a refund if you don’t attach the invoice… You guys deleted my account on your website so I can’t get the invoice. Luckily I took a screenshot of the payment confirmation but of course that’s not enough.

Day8: Oh this is not our plugin -> WTF? WPML is your fan plugin. You’re just sitting and laughing in your corner of the world while ripping people off.

Day9: You scammed the wrong people, guys. It’s not about the money anymore. I’ll share my experience with you everywhere I can. I’ll cost you 100 times more in lost business as the $99 you stole from us. This comment alone will cost you tons of sales. Because TranslatePress is the exact same price but it works beautifully.
