• This plugin is NOT compatible with WP 4.0, and not any version before that either. It just doesn’t work at all. Multiple people on their support forums have the same issues, and they refuse to accept that any issue even exists. What’s worse is that instead of attempting to fix their plugin, they just ask for everyone’s wp login and ftp information.

Aside from the obvious issues of the plugin not loading any js (which it uses for literally everything), and the developers asking people to increase their php memory limit to fix their plugin’s awful memory leaks, if it does ever work, it is way too invasive for a calendar plugin. For example, instead of just making their html elements stretch to 100% width of their parent container like reasonable human beings, they decided to add in “responsive design” admin settings to fix their calendar to static sizes for mobile development. This plugin is so frustrating on so many levels, DO NOT USE IT

Hi lcody, sorry to hear about your experience. Is it too late to ask you to create a thread on this plugin’s support section and outline these issues: https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/the-events-calendar#postform ?

Our calendar is designed for people who’s events are a large part of their site. If you are just looking for a list of posts, perhaps you are using the wrong plugin. We have many thousands of sites happily using the plugin with WP 4.0. I don’t think your experience is representative of everyone as a whole, and certainly not on our forums.

Your issues sound like a theme/plugin conflict. We ask for login credentials as a service to users, as we are one of the few plugins that will fix these for users, even free ones.
