• I liked the Event Manager very much, actually 5 stars would be due. But this update is horrible.
    My tourplan was clear and the design was well adapted to the theme – now after the migration it is a mess: Way too much information in the overview, no separation from event to event. The sidebar is also shot, even if I undo the migration to the new version!!!
    In addition: The settings menu totally confusing.
    So much deterioration! Please give me back the previous version!

    I am also a huge fan of Event Manager. However, not of the latest version. I remain with the previous version after testing the new one out. You can always do the same and go back with the “WP Rollback” plugin. Just select the version you like to rollback to and install it. Done!

    Hello, I’m sorry you had such a bad experience with the update. Obiously not our intention.

    We have written about this in our blog posts, unfortunately there was such a big change between our templates which were 10+ years old with practically no styling and our new UI that required large changes. This particularly affected those with highly customized templates, which sounds like maybe that’s the case for you, although we did our best to mitigate these with minimal structural changes, more CSS rules.

    Please refer to this blog post which explains it more along with workarounds, because you can still keep your previous templates and styling by either keeping your old formats or templates and disabling some of our styling;

    It’s a shame that also so many users that claim to have used our plugin for so many years also only feel the need to come and leave reviews when something goes wrong. Whilst the update did go wrong for many people it also went right for many more that updated and just moved on with things.

    Dear Marcus

    Thank you for your response and great work as always. I value your work very much and remain a huge fan of the Events Manager plugin. With a new version also comes much excitement. I my opinion it is good to always grow and develop further. Which means we as developers and WordPress users also need to grow and develop. That is necessary and good. It keeps life moving forward.
    I am so grateful for all the workarounds and help you provide for us to take Event Manager to the next level for our projects.
    It is just not a simple one-click update. My mission is to give people some air while giving them a solution to stay with a previous version instead of switching to another events plugins (in my option there is no better events plugin considering all that flexibility which Events Manager offers).
    Soon the update is ready and more workaround are collectively provided for more WordPress users to transition and have even a better experience with Events Manager.

    Thank you again, Marcus, for making THE BEST Events Manager plugin on WordPress. We LOVE you. You’re right, we should appreciate you more with comments and reviews. I start: well done! And keep up the amazing work you do.

    Warm regards,
    Michael
