After installing and setting up this plugin I found that the WordPress admin had gone ridiculously slow – so slow that the site was un-usable.

I did some digging around and figured out that the culprit is the admin-ajax.php file and the WordPress Heartbeat API.

After more digging it turns out that, without a shadow of a doubt, this plugin was causing it.

I have removed the plugin and everything is OK again. Please sort this out as it would be nice to use an official MailChimp integration for our site.

    Hi Nuclear Ape,

Thanks for the post. I’d like to poke around a bit and see what’s causing this wonky behavior. Do you mind getting back to me in your first post, here, with that requested information to allow is to investigate further? https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/admin-ajax-php-issue-making-site-un-responsive/#post-8420281

Thanks! I’m looking forward to hearing back and helping out.

    Hey there @nuclear-ape!

I just wanted to reach back out and see if you’d still like us to dig in. If so, we are requesting the following information to investigate this behavior further:

    – The WordPress version currently being used
    – The version of PHP installed
    – The theme being used on your site
    – A list of other plugins currently installed
    – Does this behavior persist after switching to a default WordPress theme when all other installed plugins are temporarily deactivated? (This will alert us to any potential plugin/theme conflicts)
    – Does your site meet all of the WooCommerce minimum requirements listed here? https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/server-requirements/
    – A link to your site where the plugin is installed.
    – Please feel free to include any other details that you think may be helpful.

Thank you! We are looking forward to your reply.

    Sincerely,

    Pearl
