• Hi all,
I am pretty green to wordpress but I sure am keen to get up to speed.

I thought the best way to ask for hep might be to use a test blog which I have set up.

If I was lucky enough to find help what user level would be necessary without causing a risk of the blog been taken over.

Indeed playing devils advocate say I was foolish enough to create an admin user and post a log in for the world to see. What is the worst that could happen. If my access was denied and the site started getting unsatisfactory couldn’t I delete the blog from my host account?

Reason I ask is if wordpress pros were willing to help and needed admin access then why not?

    Ronan

  • Like anything uploaded to your web host, you can make it all go away by deleting the files, yes.

The worst that can happen, doesnt NEED to happen, as long as you are intelligent, and employ, some not-so-common, common sense, and DONT allow people to help you without finding out whether or not theyre trustworthy.

Your web space is like a virtual home. YOU decide who comes in the front door. Do you allow strangers in your real home? Not without finding out who they are, or who theyre with, I imagine. ??

As far as what access is required, thats dependant on what theyre doing. The ability to manage plugins, for instance, relies on admin access.
