Test mail works fine but WP can't send mails

  • Hi,

    I’m using a local WordPress installation with WAMP, at my workplace.
    I manage to send a test mail through this plugin, using the SMTP method.

    However, in the WordPress login screen, I try to resend the password by mail (just as a test), and I get a message that the host has disabled the mail() function.

    But the plugin is set to use SMTP, so why is WP still trying to use the other method, and how do I solve it?
