Test message with Zoho fails

    Hi,

    I am trying to send a test mail with Zoho and it fails. I am selecting Other SMTP option. Screenshot for review.

    Hi there @kimabaghdasaryan,

    Zoho is sending back an error message regarding your connection:

    2024-01-31 03:36:27 SMTP ERROR: Password command failed: 535 Authentication Failed

    Zoho is saying that the password is incorrect. Like other mail providers, to connect to Zoho using and SMTP connection, you’ll need to use an App Password connected to your account. Take a look at this guide on our site. It provides information on how to set up the connection to Zoho:

    Additionally, it looks like Easy WP SMTP is also enabled, which can conflict with WP Mail SMTP. We high recommend deactivating it while running WP Mail SMTP.

    Hi there @kimabaghdasaryan,

    Are you running other SMTP plugins on your site? The reason I ask is because the warning you are seeing in the screenshot refers to WP SMTP. Our plugin is WP Mail SMTP. If you have other SMTP plugins installed, you may be running into a conflict with other plugins.

    Regarding whether this issue is due to using the free version, that shouldn’t be the case. Our Pro version has a built-in mailer for Zoho, but you can still use the free version to connect to Zoho using the Other SMTP mailer.

    Check your site to see if other SMTP plugins are active. If they are, try turning them off and then try sending a test email with WP Mail SMTP.
