    The testimonials show up in the website on several pages. But we can’t edit them in the Dashboard. I installed Jetpack and there is an item Testimonials in the Dashboard menu. When I go go to testimonials there is only 1 testimonial while there are several shown in the frontend. When you go to https://joycelakwijk.nl/testimonial/ there is also only one.
    There seems to be no widget used for testimonials in Shoreditch.
    And I can’t find the testimonial in my database. So I’m wondering where does the theme gets the testimonials from?
    I logged in at wordpress.com to see whether Jetpack stores them there but I can only find the one that’s in the site’s Dashboard.

    The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi there,

    Can you point me to a specific place on your site where one of these testimonials appear? If it’s not a Jetpack testimonial you’re seeing, it’s coming either from another plugin, or it’s something that’s actually part of the page’s content, in which case you should be able to edit/remove it in the post/page editor.

    Shoreditch doesn’t come with its own testimonials feature built in that allows you to create testimonials somewhere in the theme itself.

    It also looks like you currently have a theme called Joyce enabled. Did you decide to go with another theme instead?

    I use a child-theme.

    It is a very weird problem because the testimonials are shown in <aside id=”tertiary” class=”widget-area widget-footer” role=”complementary”>
    <div class=”widget-footer-area widget-footer-top-area column-1″>
    <div class=”widget-area-wrapper”>
    <section id=”text-6″
    but I can’t find them anywhere.
    It looks like something went wrong with a Jetpack update.

    Can you let me know the specific page on your site where you’re seeing that?

    I don’t see anything like that on either the front page, or the Testimonials page you linked to above.

    If it’s appearing in a text widget, as the code you gave above appear to indicate, then it’s not coming from Jetpack or from the theme, as in that case it’s not a testimonial content type, but static text added to a widget. Go to Appearance ->Customize ->Widgets, select the footer widget area, and remove the widget from there.

    I found them! They are in the widgetblock ‘inactive widgets’. These are the new Gutenberg widgets which work not well with a non-gutenberg site. I tried to add an extra widget in the second footer and now the testimonials disappeared from the site. I’ll have to get the widget back.

    Edit: Since it probably worked with a pre-gutenberg plugin I decided to use Jetpack testimonials in stead.

    @kokkieh Thanks for showing me the right direction.
