  • No, it happened on my site too. I was going crazy trying to figure out where I had posted a messages that said testing… I deactivated the plugin and the message was gone. I re-actived it and the message came back… so, I hope for a fix soon!

I received the same results. I have disabled the plugin and the “Test” message goes away. I am sure there will be a quick fix to this.

I checked the code and found the issue within bp-pending-activations.php on line 59.

@wrowlads – have you tried to comment out that line? If so did that fix the issue?

Same here. I updated the plugin, then later browsing the site saw the ‘testing’ notice. Really freaked me out since I had no idea what I had done to cause it and didn’t remember manually putting a notice like that up.

Deactivated the plugin, awaiting a fix.

@unitedtechpros – I don’t know about others, but I figure if the plugin author pushed the update with such a glaring error present, I’m not confident there aren’t other bugs as well. I feel more comfortable deactivating until the plugin is updated again.

@chembro303 I actually had been activating and deactivating this plugin due to the fact that I had an error on the older version that produced an error at the top of my dashboard. The plugin did what it was supposed to but the error was displayed on the DB.

So, when the update came out and the error went away, I was really happy… then like you I freaked out when I saw the message, I thought some member had found some hole I left in the site. The plugin is so useful though due to the poorly worded activation email (gets caught in many spam filters, so I reworded it) and other email issues in buddy press.

I hope the fix it soon, as I would love to leave it activated!

    Dear everyone,

I checked the code and found the issue within bp-pending-activations.php.

Just comment out the following code as follows:

    /*bp_core_add_message("Testing");*/

I did this and everything works fine. I am sure that the developer will be issuing an update soon, although this fixed my issues.

@wrowlands – I just had to do a manual activation and I got an error… can you confirm that it works error free for you when manually activating?

    Thanks!

I just did a thorough check to see if the plugin is working. I have this running on two different sites. The plugin works for me.

Eesh… that’s embarassing. Sorry about that.

I rushed this update out the door because I new users were experiencing bugs with the previous version after the WP 3.6 release. (That and other life priorities were bearing down on me :))

That’ll teach me to make sure I give the code one last go over before I push a release out.

Update has been submitted. You should be able to download it soon.

The plugin is very useful and we appreciate the hard work!

    Thank you @baldgoat

    Everything is good now.
