• Is there a way to see if a template modification will show up the way I want it to without actually finalizing the file modifications? Thanks, Shane.

The best way would be to make another “test blog” and try the template there. Or test your templates after midnight when hopefully no one is awake. ^_^

I have a webhost with a number of addon domains. This gives me lots of testing capabilities.

I forgot where I posted how to test out different templates, so I think I’ll type it out again.
    index.php & wp-layout.css: Current known-good layout
    index2.php & wp-layout2.css: Layout you’re testing
I’d make another copy of the index and CSS files, and rename it whatever you want. Then, just test away with those two files. That way, your default layout isn’t touched, everybody sees it just fine, and you don’t need additional databases to use up.
I suppose the only thing that wouldn’t work is the permalink and archive pages, but the frontpage should be fine to test in that matter.
Hope that suggestion does the it for you!
