• I just bought a fancy new wordpress theme and I’d like to test how it interacts with my current content before installing it.

Any ideas about how to do this?

  • Dashboard > Appearance > Themes > Available themes > select the “Live Preview” link located under the theme you would like to test.

[edit] ..you do need to install the theme first. You don’t need to activate it to preview.

I installed the zip file and when I click live preview it’s saying there’s an internal server error

    The short version:

    – An internal server error can be caused by many server and site configuration issues. It may or may not be related to the theme. Or, perhaps something in its design might be preventing it from showing in live preview mode.

    – Commercial theme issues are not supported here in the forums. It’s generally recommended that support and documentation for commercial themes, and any documentation related to installation and configuration issues be referred back the to theme creator (and support experts) at the point of sale.

It sounds like you may need to try activating the theme to see if it actually works or not.

I got it. I had installed Theme Test Drive and I think it was interfering.
