This problem is in the dashboard. It’s in regards to creating a new post or updating an older one.

I know HTML code and sometimes use it. but sometimes I just like to copy/paste from MS Word.

However, the option is no longer there for me to toggle and use

LMK how I bring it back.

So far, I have removed a jetpack plug in that I added recently. However, that didn’t bring it back.

Paste from Word was removed from WordPress in version 3.9 I believe. The reason stated was that we were moving to using TinyMCE 4.0 which is supposed to detect if you are pasting from word and adjust itself accordingly. I believe the paste from Word works correctly but I know people have issues embedding spreadsheets from Excel.

    Bob,

Appreciate your note but it must be something else.

Because I no longer see the tabs for Text/html on the tab bar.

So right now it’s got me creating posts in HTML!

I would try a few things. First I would switch out your theme for one of the default WordPress themes that come with the package when you first install it. If your problem goes away, it is theme related.

If that doesn’t work, I would disable my plugins and see if that repairs the issue.

    Thanks Bob.

I do remember it working when I changed the theme a month or so ago. I can try what you recommend and try to remember what other plugins I’ve added recently. I did delete the last plugin but that didn’t help.

I’ll come back when it’ fixed later this weekend.

I wish you a lot of luck with your project.

Going through the whole “reset to default theme and turn off all plugins” routine is truly a pain, but it is something you get used to when troubleshooting WordPress.

To rule out any plugin/theme interference I:

    – deactivating ALL plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem (plugin functions can interfere).
    – reset the plugins folder by FTP.
    – Switched to the unedited default Theme (Twenty Sixteen, etc.)

    Still missing the Visual/Text boxes
