• Hi,

I have been experiencing my text disappearing while editing or uploading a blog article in WordPress 4.0.1. This started happening in the last 3 weeks.

All the wording disappears in the text area. If I highlight the text, some times I can see it but other times there is simply just a white background.

I also noticed that when I Preview or Update the blog article, the text is prone to disappearing as well.

It means I can’t edit the blog since I am unable to see the text.

Any suggestions on how to fix this issue?

    Thanks

    Tony

  • Hi Tony,
I have the same problem with one particular WP site that I manage. It seems to be caused by the “All in One SEO” plugin. If I disable that, the posts can be edited normally, and the text displays correctly. I also have a bespoke one-off theme set up on this WP site, so it may be a combination of something in the plugin, something in the styling of the theme – I have no idea.

If any readers have any ideas why this plugin affects the layout and display for the creation and editing of posts, I’d be really pleased to know!

    Thanks
    Sam

I solved this on my blog site.
I enabled the debug in wp-config.php. I got a fatal exception memory allocation error in my post. The combination of plugin on this blog was overusing allocated memory for the site.
I then increased the memory limit on both the blog config (wp-settings.php) and the server config (php.ini), and remade the post “Are We Serious About Growing Leaders?” as this had become corrupted.
Total time taken with testing, 1 hour.
