• Text editor does not work after update 4.2.1. After 4.2.2. no change.
I can not change anything in the text editor.
As a back version 4.2.0 everything is fine.

    Try:
    – deactivating ALL (yes all) plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem (plugin functions can interfere). If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s).
    – If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the unedited default Twenty Fifteen theme for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

First it did. Disabled all plugins and activated Fifteen Twenty, but there was no effect. Everything was fine, just as I returned 4.2.0

Are you saying your issue was no longer reproducible once you deactivated all plugins and switched back to the default Twenty Fifteen theme when using both WordPress 4.2.1 as well as 4.2.2? Because, if so, your next step would be to uncover which plugin(s) and/or theme is causing the issue so you can report the problem on the author(s)’ support forum.

If, on the other hand, you are saying your issue was reproducible on a near default install of WordPress 4.2.1 and 4.2.2 (i.e., all plugins OFF and theme = Twenty Fifteen) but not on 4.2.0 then that’s a whole different discussion.

Just let Tara and I know!

    Tried this:
    1) All plugins disabled
    2) Activating Twenty Fifteen theme
    3) Updating tinymce.min.js to 4.1.10
    Text editor does not working.

As a back version 4.2.0. Text editor works.

The problem may not be in plugins or themes.

Might I suggest deactivating all plugins as well as running the default Twenty Fifteen theme and then reinstalling WordPress 4.2.2 to see if your issue remains. This will hopefully rule out any WordPress modifications of any kind.

If your issue remains, then I would call your hosting service and let them know what’s going on with a near as possible default install of WordPress 4.2.2 as compared to WordPress 4.2.0 where the issue couldn’t be reproduced.

I did it again, all plugins disabled, activating Twenty Fifteen theme and then reinstalling WordPress 4.2.2. The problem remained.
I forgot to specify that I have several sites and all have this problem.
I contacted the hosting company, they said that that’s a WordPress problem.

Very interesting! Are all the sites that express the issue using the same hosting provider? If so, there’s got to be something beyond it being a “WordPress problem” since tons of other WordPress users, including myself, who are not using your hosting provider, are not able to reproduce the issue on WordPress 4.2.1 nor 4.2.2.

Beyond all this, please define exactly what you mean by the “Text editor does not work”. That is, what doesn’t work? AND, even better, please provide steps to reproduce your issue including what browser(s) and version(s) were used.

All sites are in a hosting company. I use Mozilla 38.0.5.
I can not edit text in post or page. After publication, the changes are not saved.
I can not publish a new page or post, remains only white field.

    -Try adding this to your active theme’s wp-config.php file above the /* That’s all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */ line so it looks like this: define(‘CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS’, false);

I did it, but still not working. This is my wp-config.php:

[link moderated: This link had all your personal info; please do not publish your personal info. Now the whole world knows your personal info. I recommend you change your password etc. immediately.]

I am also facing same problem. The editor works from taxonomy edit page but when you add a category then it doesn’t work. I have a custom long description field.

    @wpraj,
as per the Forum Welcome, please post your own topic. That way you stand a good chance of getting full attention to your specific issue. Despite any similarity in symptoms, your issue is likely to be completely different because of possible differences in physical servers, accounts, hosts, plugins, theme, configurations, etc. Thus one problem, on one setup is not indicative of the functionality and reliability of an application as a whole.

    Are there other possibilities?

You are not alone with this issue ??

I just found a solution for my exact issue. Turns out there was malware within the site files. The site had a recent attack and the web host reverted to a previous date backup and said it was all good. Well it wasn’t.

Try installing Sucuri Scanner and it should find the possible malware on activation. Then download the latest WP version, unzip and check the files it states along side what is actually in the wp folders and remove all the ones which aren’t in the WP files you just unzipped.

    I had also:
    ? deactivated all plugins
? Reinstalled WP to a fresh version (no idea how the infected files stayed in there?!)
    ? switched to default theme

    Worth a try! Good luck!
