• I’ve noticed a bug since upgrading to version 3.0. The text entry window for adding or editing new posts won’t adjust its width to fit my browser window width. In the past, it would be the same size as other fields on the page (trackbacks, discussions, etc.), but now it flows under mu right column (publish, post tags, categories).

Is this a bug, or do I have an incorrect setting somewhere?

Really? No answer at all? No one else is having this problem?

It’s not a known bug. Have you tried:

    – resetting the size of the text field manually using the resize tool in the lower bottom right of the text box?

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress?

The resize tool only lets me make the box taller or shorter, not wider or thinner.

Problem solved: I had to reset the Viper’s Video Quicktags plug-in to display its buttons on a third, separate row below the two formatting toolbars in the edit window.
