Text in Footer Widget Box Empty

I have child theme installed.

I don’t want to mess with core files.

I go to Appearance > Widgets and the Footer widget box is blank. I’m not sure where to look in the backend to edit the text display i.e., copyright, company name, etc.

I’m sure it’s a simple oversight, but I just can’t locate where to edit. Do I need to reactivate a widget? Close a widget? Toss my notebook against the nearest wall?
