Text in sidebar widgets disappearing

Hi there,
I have the same issue on all sidebar widgets that have text fields.
In the sign box that asks for email, the text disappears after your write an @ symbol. The first part of the text is displayed in red even though I have assigned a black colour in the Appearance/customise section
In the search bar field the text is not visible at all. It is there in white against a white background so invisible. I can’t work out what the issue is.
