I have to use Yoast to promote the classifieds page of my site and for which I have used AWPCP which is a well know plugin. However despite writing a description of 4 lines (1 paragraph) in the classifieds page, the Yoast plugin keeps saying that the text length is 0. I am unable to figure this out. Can you please help?

  • I’m in exactly the same position. Despite having hundreds of words on a page, Yoast says there isn’t enough content (and won’t offer a Flesch Reading score either!). For me, this is a site-wide issue and i’m using Yoast Premium. I wonder whether Yoast is looking at the wrong area of content on a page?

If you have content and see this error, you are likely adding content outside of the default editor. Some plugins and themes, like page builders or visual composers, do not share their content with our analysis feature. If you’re using a plugin that does not share their content, please contact their development team to request compatibility with the Yoast SEO keyphrase analysis.

Please visit my page https://www.dogward.com/classifieds/ and you will see I have written a good deal at the top however the yoast plugin free version shows

Text length: The text contains 0 words. This is far below the recommended minimum of 300 words. Add more content.

For all other points it is showing good green results

I am facing exactly the same problem with my blog page https://www.dogward.com/about-dogs/ – mind you no plugin is used here so no third party issues. It is again asking for text. Text can be for individual posts but not for a blog page.

Please let me know the solution to the problems in both these pages. My site is unable to use yoast fully because of these issues – otherwise yoast is truly awesome.

    Thanks

    Hi,

We see you are using a pagebuilder called Elementor to make that page. Yoast is not compatible with every pagebuilder plugin or theme like Elementor. If the plugin/theme has added the right code for Yoast to hook into, Yoast is expected to then scan those modules.

We are not familiar with that plugin/theme so we are not sure if they have added the right code. We suggest contacting the plugin’s/theme’s authors and asking them if they have included the right code in all the modules for Yoast to scan.?This guide explains more and includes links to the code they need to have:?https://kb.yoast.com/kb/is-the-plugin-compatible-with-xyz-visual-page-builder/.

In the meantime, please know that even though Yoast is showing warnings as long as you know you have added the right content like internal links, images, etc., so will Google. Google will still be able to scan the source code of the page.

Hi, Elementor is one of the most popular page builder for wordpress so I am a little surprised that yoast is not compatible with it. About the theme, earlier I was using OceanWP which again is one of the most popular themes for wordpress with downloads all over the world but even with OceanWP i was facing the same issues with Yoast (issues with Blog page and classifieds page).

Because of the text length problem yoast is showing an orange sign but not green. Is this still okay.

Yoast must actually look into issues like the ones I am facing.

    Thanks

    Hi @mjaitly123 ,

In order to make the page builders compatible with our plugin, we have provided theme developers with an API that they can use to pass their content to our page analysis. You can reach out to your theme developer and confirm if they have added the Yoast SEO Analysis API to support the Elementor page builder modules (widgets, text editor, etc) so our plugin could detect the content and read them properly.

As mentioned before, even if you are getting an orange light on analysis report, this doesn’t mean that search engines won’t be able to read your content. As long as you are following the guidelines, this won’t hurt your SEO and still, content can be considered optimized.
