text link problems in 4.1.1

  • Having a strange an new problem in a site just updated to 4.1.1 last night. When I select a hunk of text and try to make it a link (clicking the chain icon in the toolbar), I get no popup window to create the link. Nothing happens, except that the scrollbar for the screen vanishes. I get this behavior in Firefox 35.0.1 and Chrome 40.0.22114.111 on OS X. My client likewise gets no response (no link popup that is) when clicking the button in IE 11, but her scrollbar sticks around. It also appears that in Chrome, I can’t add a tag or assign an existing tag. Is this an issue that’s coming up much with this release?

    Try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

    If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Twenty Fifteen theme to rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).
