• Hi guys,

On the homepage of my site fleetdive.com I have a strange one which I cannot figure out. The bottom line of text should be one line centred but for some reason it is following the “last third” rule for the image above it. To me (being crap at coding) it looks like the last third command has closed off properly and yet it remains wrongly formatted. Can any wizard please help?

    Thanx!

  • Have you tried using Firefox with the Firebug add-on for this kind of CSS troubleshooting? Or using whatever developer tool is available in your web browser?

Hi esmi and thanx for replying. Yes I have firebug installed but have no idea how I can use it to help. I really am fumbling around in the dark as a newbie not only to WP but also to coding. Everything is happening by trial and error and as I say to me the code seems ok on the face of it.

I suppose it could be a template css conflicting???

Yes – that would be the most likely cause. I’d also suggest validating your page’s markup & CSS.

Ok esmi – 24 errors and two warnings – is that bad?

Can you see the error on this particular code or is that a silly question?

24 errors does not sound good but it really depends upon what those errors are.

Sure they look mostly to be tags.

What about the specific issue here – can you see the error at all?

Ok esmi – I have given up, shortened the “problem” text and accepted it living under the picture in the last third.
