Text running into dark color on background

  • The text on my pages is running into the dark-colored part of the background. This wasn’t happening before — I’m not sure if it started occuring because I updated the build of Startup WP, but I’d love to fix it and have a *little* bit of white space at the sides of the “text area.” I’d also like to keep the sides of the background a dark color (it will go with my blog).

    Also, related to this — my text now looks too bunched together. It used to be more readable. I’ve been using Arial 4 (14 pt) as a font, since that was declared the most “readable.” Does anyone have ideas on this? As it stands the lines seem to be on top of each other.

    I should note: I’m a complete beginner, so am not conversant with rewriting or “manipulating” CSS code…. (I can obviously “patch” or replace elements, though!)

  • I’m sorry but as you are using a commercial theme, you need to seek support from the theme’s developer/vendor. We do not support commercial themes here.

    I didn’t think a free theme was “commercial” (I didn’t pay for it). The rules ’round these parts are fascinatingly circuitous.

    1.) I’m using the free version of the theme and ignored/didn’t know there was a pay one.

    2.) I noted in the post above I’m a beginner. Those of us who are not in the field cannot distinguish between which themes are made by which companies. It all looks WordPress-ish to us neophytes.

    For 2) Don’t worry, we can do that identification for you.

    Simple rule of thumb: if you didn’t download the theme from https://www.ads-software.com/extend/themes/ or via your Appearance -> Themes -> Add New page on your site, then we don’t support it and you need to contact the theme developer directly.
