• When clicking on the text tab at the top right it does nothing for me. I have some code that I need to put at the text level but now I cannot do it.

  • We updated to 1.3 yesterday and now have this same problem.

** Update: restored version 0.5 and the problem persisted. Looks like it was not related to the update but instead an unrelated change. We will try the update again soon.

Same problem here. How to trace the errors, that might be conflicting with other plugins or something else?

Same situation. Cannot change views – it stuck on the last tab used by user.
Quite crucial for the authors ?? – fast fix appreciated.
    Thanks, Lukas

Tried beta 1.4 still the same issue in FireFox and Chrome. Don’t know about IE as who uses it ??

We had a similar issue; editors could not switch between visual and text tabs, and the page content often didn’t even show at all.

In our case it was a bunch of Javascript errors. When Javascript fails, lots of things on the editor page don’t work. Look at the browser console (available via F12 dev tools in most browsers) for Javascript errors. Each error should show what .js file it occurred in (try hovering over the name if you don’t see the full path.)

Look for files inside wp-content/plugins, and try temporarily deactivating the associated plugin to see if it helps. We just needed to deactivate Yoast SEO, but it may be different for you.

It was the Yoast plugin for me. Deactivated it and it started working. Thanks @swartzer.

Tried deactivating Yoast and that did nothing. I have another website that is just fine.

So I have deactivated all plugins, removed and replaced the tinymce folder in wordpress, cleared all cache and well everything else I could find that people said to do. Still, no luck. BUT here is the really odd part. If I go to edit a Page the editor works perfect, but when I got to edit a post the “Text” tab does nothing. I have installed all the same plugins and activated them on a local test site and it all works great. Pretty sure there is just a small files somewhere that is creating all this grief. BTW this does it in ALL browsers and from different PC’s so it has to be site based as I have two other sites on the same server and everything works on them and they all are on 5.1.1
