Text Widget and Enhanced Text Widget both disappear in sidebar

  • Hi –
    Every time I come back into my widgets dashboard my sidebar text widgets are gone. The information still appears on my site fine but I can’t update it. I have to recreate it every time I have to make a change which is really frustrating. Is there a fix for this problem? I am using my own theme.

    I am taking a class for creating WordPress sites and this stumped my teacher too and she has been developing WordPress sites for at least a few of years.

    Your help is appreciated.

  • The standard troubleshooting steps are to deactivate all your plugins and switch to the default twentytwelve theme. If that works, reverse the steps one by one to see which is causing that problem to occur.
