Textarea Line Breaks get stripped on PHP output

When adding a multiline Texarea, then using the PHP output for it on my block <?php echo ( $inner[‘text-over-image’] ); ?>, any line breaks aren’t brought over, and it’s just echoed as one line of text.
Latest version of the plugin and wordpress etc
