Textbox's are evaluating max length even tho its not checked

  • Not sure whats going on, but when trying to update a post with a magic fields 2 textbox it gives an error on update. The field has to be less than 25 characters. The field in MF2 is not check to evaluate length. This just started happening. I have the same issue on 2 sites. one with the most recent magic fields 2 update Version 2.3.2.1 and another at Version 2.3.2.

    not sure if its a database thing or whats going on.

  • I’m having the same problem.
    Even when “Evaluate Max Length” is not checked, it still uses the max length from the field below the checkbox.
    Workaround: Just add “999” into max length.
    Would be nice if you can fix this error, thanks!

    When will be update be online? Still annoying because all customers asking for it.
    And the image media field type also doesn’t work well anymore. sometimes there is an php warning when the thumb is beeing genereated i think.

    i’m waiting because i want add more fixes before they send the new version. for the moment you can update the file.

    which warning produces the media field type, is only when upload the image for first time? if you save de post the thumbnail of image looks correctly?

    Ah ok. It says “catchable fatal error object of class wp_error could not be converted to string” at the end of the image media field and this way it blocks the following fields. when saving the page again, the error is gone, but so are the following image media fields (e.g. when having duplicated groups or fields).
    i know it is a php error, but it now often appears in combination with magic fields, even on pages i never had problem with before. all just after updating to the latest magic fields.
    also post thumbnails are not created anymore when uploading images. i can only get the “original size” value.

    ok, you use the last version of MF2 right? which version of WP. the field is “Image Media” type?

    All newest versions (MF2, WP).
    Yes, image media. Never had problems on the same pages before.
