Textcolor – how do i change the default?

I’m using a template with a black background. All text comes up as black by default, so you have to go in and change all text sections to white for them to be visible. In some blocks such as “Recent comments” I can’t even find a way to change the color of the text. How do I solve this? Is it possible to change the overall text color somehow?
