Since moving to a new host, I have been having issues with memory use, out of memory errors, restarts and slow saving edits in admin dashboard. It has taken over a month to resolve. The old host was on a shared server, the new one a SSD powered 4GB memory VPS which should have been plenty of power. Ultimately, it now seems the main problem was an xmlrpc attack that was eating up memory in apache. The combination of the BPS xmlrpc bonus code and nginx as a front end proxy appears to have resolved all the problems. The host identified a few ways to implement the xmlrpc issue, but BPS was very convenient to do it.

Yep, we see blocked xmlrpc attacks all day every day. The other thing that is non stop is brute force login attacks on our BuddyPress Forum site. The majority of those blocked attacks are spambots trying to auto-register to our BuddyPress Forum site. BuddyPress attracts spambot b@$t@rd$ like flies to p00p. ??
