• After reading an interesting article in Wired magazine I got an idea. I tried hacking a couple of different text replacer scripts but couldn’t get it to work right, then I ran across the “Polite-ifier” script.

    Here’s my hack. I went into the main file ‘polite-ifier.php’ and replaced the code in the “function politeify_callback” section with this:

    return '<acronym title="StopFCC.com - The campaign for free speech!"><a href="https://www.stopfcc.com"><font color=red><b>FCC</b></font></a></acronym>'

    So instead of moving the ‘dirty’ word into an acronym it replaces it with the letters ‘FCC’ and a link to the StopFCC.com web site – just my small way of protesting over-zealous FCC censorship, and also a way to make a small contribution to the WordPress community……and it’s fun to see how normal profanity shows up – “FCC you!” and “Holy FCC!” just make me laugh :o)
